The Opening Act

Today, we just rolled out Part I of our mobile banking strategy. It's called tweetMyMoney and we're very excited. We believe your credit union is one of the first financial institutions in the country to implement such a service.

When we embarked on a mobile banking strategy, we didn't want to go the traditional route per se. The fact is; social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook are just too important for us not to be a part of. Therefore, we wanted to be able to offer our members access to their money via these platforms. Today, the Part I was completed.

Our mobile banking strategy has four parts. They are:

  • Twitter
  • FaceBook
  • SMS
  • iPhone

For the folks who are not getting the Twitter and Facebook vibe, we have a solution for you, too. We do plan to roll out a traditional SMS (i.e text messaging) version in 2010. For the iPhone faithful, we're planning on coming out with an App for you with a couple of nice surprises.

Finally, we're just getting started. These innovations are just the first of many we have planned for 2010.

Stay tuned....
